Hazing Policy

24. Hazing Policy

Under Chapter 269 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts “hazing” of a student by another student is a crime punishable by a fine and/or imprisonment. Students may also be subject to civil lawsuits by victims of hazing. A copy of the statute is available at the Dean of Students web site at www.umass.edu/dean_students.
