Program Overview

The Ph.D. program in the Department of Biomedical Engineering is designed to emphasize the latest experimental and computational techniques to solve problems at the intersection of engineering, biology, and medicine to advance healthcare. Students can focus on topics in biomaterials, tissue engineering, orthopedics, medical devices, molecular therapies, bioinstrumentation, cardiovascular, biosensors, ergonomics/human factors engineering, or an area of mutual interest to the student and faculty.
