Union Leadership and Activism Limited Residency Program

The Union Leadership and Activism (ULA) program is a limited residency format for our Master of Science degree in Labor Studies, designed for union members, elected leaders, and union staff who work full time. It provides trade unionists the opportunity to step back from their day-to-day work and not only improve their expertise in organizing, collective bargaining, strategic research, and labor law, but also attain a broad view of the history and current state of the labor movement.

The requirements for the ULA program are the same as the core curriculum for the residential program. ULA courses are offered in 10-day residencies in January and July. Students enroll in two courses per residency and complete writing assignments upon returning home. The degree can be completed in two and a half years.
