Master of Public Health Degree Program at the UMass Medical School, Worcester

A Master of Public Health (MPH) degree is offered through the Blended Worcester MPH program based at the University of Massachusetts Medical School as part of the degree program of the University of Massachusetts Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences. The curriculum is designed to enable health care professionals to earn this advanced degree while engaged in professional activities. Live classes are scheduled in the early evening to accommodate working students and all core courses and several electives are offered online through the Public Health Practice program every semester.  The courses cover a wide variety of topic areas in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health sciences, health policy and management, community health education, research methods, global health, program planning and evaluation.

A total of 42 credits is required for the MPH degree. This includes five required core courses: Biostats 540, Epi 630, EnvHlth 565, HPP 601 and HPP 620; seven elective courses; a 3-credit practicum and a 3-credit final project.  Students also have the option of completing an extensive 6-credit research project.  A typical student can complete the program in 2-4 years.
