Master of Science in Accounting Degree
The Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) Program is accredited at the highest level by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The Isenberg MSA offers two program tracks; the Professional Track designed primarily for individuals possessing a strong academic background in accounting (i.e., undergraduate degree in accounting or substantial equivalent) and the Transitions Track designed specifically for students with non-accounting backgrounds.
Designed for maximum flexibility and convenience, our program can be completed 100% online, or you can choose our hybrid option and take some of your courses on-campus. The requirements vary by track. Professional Track students complete 30 credits which include 6 required courses for 18 credits, and 12 credits of electives. Transitions Track students will complete the same curriculum as our Professional Track, but they must complete 15 credits of Accounting Foundation courses before moving on to more advanced coursework*. The total degree credits required for students in the Transitions Track ranges from 33-45.
Students may, with the approval of the graduate program director, transfer up to six credit hours for graduate courses completed at accredited institutions within the past three years, as long as the credits have not been used to fulfill any requirements for another degree, and a grade of B or better was earned.
Students may enter the program in any of the three semesters (summer, fall, spring). Academic history, aptitude for graduate study, solid recommendations, and work experience are given consideration in admission decisions.
*Accounting Foundation Courses: If you have taken an equivalent class from an accredited University, you may be exempt from taking the course. Based on your application review, the admissions team will determine which exemptions apply to you. Total credits to graduate will be adjusted accordingly.
