Accelerated Master's in Education, Elementary Teacher Education Pathway

The purpose of the accelerated Master of Education degree in Elementary Education is to make a contiguous pathway to earning a master’s degree that will help to meet the needs of students who wish to become elementary teachers. Students completing the program will have a master’s degree conferring an initial teaching license in Elementary Education, grades 1-6. 

Application

Undergraduate students would apply to the program in their sophomore or junior year and begin taking courses toward the master’s degree.

Course Sequence

Students who are undergraduates when they begin the program would follow the sequence listed below.

  • Sophomore (Spring) or Junior Year (Fall): Apply to program.
  • Senior Year: EDUC 503, EDUC 561S, HUMDEV 570.
  • Summer: EDUC 592L, 615AK (hybrid courses).
  • Fall: EDUC 598E, EDUC 662, EDUC 615N, EDUC 691R.
  • Spring: EDUC 500Y, EDUC 695J.
