Master of Science in Business Analytics

The Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) is a program that provides graduates from any undergraduate major with the business analytics tools and techniques that are increasingly necessary to be effective in organizations of all kinds. Organizations are generating large amounts of data, every day, and are looking for business professionals who can analyze that data and help improve business efficiency, financial performance, and make better strategic decisions. MSBA graduates will learn how to retrieve, manipulate, visualize and analyze data using the latest industry tools in a business context that utilizes accounting, finance and marketing organizational metrics.

Students can choose from two (2) tracks in the MSBA degree: the Foundations of Management track and the Data Analytics track. The Foundations of Management track enables students to obtain foundational business knowledge in the areas of Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Organizational Behavior, while also completing six (6) courses in business analytics. The Data Analytics track enables students to supplement the six (6) courses in business analytics with data analytics electives, including Data Science in Business. Students can also select add on an optional focus area in Advanced Analytics, which enables students to take three (3) additional elective courses in applied areas of analytics, such Supply Chain Analytics and Web Analytics.

The MSBA is offered as a 1-year program on-campus in Amherst or Newton, or you can complete the program at your own pace through our flexible online learning platform. Both on-campus options have achieved classification as a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) program. No pre-requisites are necessary and GRE/GMAT waivers may apply based upon your undergraduate GPA.
