Doctor of Philosophy Degree Program

The course requirements for the Ph.D. degree include 18 credits of Doctoral Dissertation (BME 899), a minimum of 9 credits of graduate coursework in a major concentration area, 9 credits of graduate coursework in a minor concentration area, and 2 semesters of Biomedical Engineering Seminar. All coursework must be approved by your faculty advisor.

Ph.D. students are expected to pass an oral qualifying exam by the end of their first year, and a dissertation proposal defense before their third year.
