The Program
The Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence for Business provides a firm grounding on AI technologies and their application in business. It provides students with the technical skill required to implement machine learning models and understand prompting techniques for Generative AI models. It will also provide an understanding of how AI informs business strategy and discuss the ethical and legal challenges that accompany the use of AI in business.
All classes in this 4-course certificate are taught online. Credits can transfer to the MBA (Online and On-Campus) or the MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) program upon admission to that degree program.
Students must complete 12 credits at the graduate-level, including one core required course (3 credits) and three elective courses (9 credits). Students will start by taking the required course, SCH-MGMT 609 Business Applications with Python, since it is a prerequisite to other courses.

- SCH-MGMT 655 - Machine Learning for Analytics (3 credits) Prerequisite: 650; Note: Due to the overlap in curriculum, students cannot take both 655 and 657 to fulfill their certificate credits.
- SCH-MGMT 657 - Data Science for Business (3 credits) Prerequisite: 609 and 650; Note: Due to the overlap in curriculum, students cannot take both 655 and 657 to fulfill their certificate credits.
- SCH-MGMT 661 - Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Business (3 credits) Prerequisite 609
- SCH-MGMT 664 - Generative AI: Business Applications and Strategy (3 credits)
- SCH-MGMT 664A - Navigating AI: Business Strategies, Legal Boundaries and Ethical Dilemmas (3 credits)
