Commonwealth Honors College

The honors college is a campus-wide program; UMass Amherst students from all majors, in every school and college, may be eligible for admission to Commonwealth Honors College.

Each year academically talented students are admitted to Commonwealth Honors College based on their high school performance. Entering freshmen with minimum combined critical reading and math SAT I scores of 1300, high school rank within the top 10 percent, and an A- or higher high school grade point average will be given consideration for admission to Commonwealth Honors College. Those admitted to the honors college are invited to a special orientation program and are expected to participate in honors activities and complete appropriate honors requirements.
