Departmental Honors (DH) sub-plans complement and extend the experience of an academic major, are available in most majors, and are encouraged for students who intend to pursue graduate studies related to their undergraduate majors.

Requirements for both admission to and completion of Departmental Honors vary by department and may exceed the minimum standards set by Commonwealth Honors College. Qualified students who are interested in pursuing Departmental Honors should apply for one of the following two options:

1. Commonwealth Honors College General Studies Honors plus the Departmental Honors sub-plan (the full Commonwealth Honors College curriculum) or

2. Commonwealth Honors College Departmental Honors (the DH only, partial honors curriculum option).
