These programs are meant to allow students to explore and attain some competence in a second field. In some cases, students may choose a minor topically connected to their major (for example, a major in Spanish and a minor in Latin American studies), or may choose a secondary field removed from their primary area which evinces a specific skill (for example, a major in philosophy and a minor in architectural studies).
Descriptions of departmental minors are given at the end of the department’s major description and are linked below. Interdepartmental minor programs are included in this section.
It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that all requirements for these programs have been met and to obtain the necessary departmental signature. An authorization form for minors is available at the Registrar’s Office and must be filed upon completion of the minor and prior to graduation.
