UMA Undergraduate Guide 2019-2020 Academic Departments and Programs Hospitality and Tourism Management Study Abroad
Study AbroadHTM students are afforded a variety of opportunities to study abroad. Students can spend a semester or year abroad studying at institutions such as: Southern Cross University in Australia, Oxford Brookes University in England, or the Caesar Ritz Hotel Management School in Luzern, Switzerland. HTM also offers students a one year Learn6/Work6 program in Switzerland. In this program students earn two semesters of academic credits in six months which includes German language courses. This is followed by working as a paid intern for another six months in a European hotel or restaurant. A summer abroad program is offered every year as well. This program takes students to several European destinations. Students who participate in these activities develop better understanding of foreign languages and cultures and often pursue international career opportunities. The department also offers a study abroad program every year that covers several countries. |
