The Minor
The College of Information and Computer Sciences offers a minor in Computer Science, open to undergraduate students at the university. The five courses that make up the minor provide a coherent introduction to the science of computing.
These courses are:
- COMPSCI 121
- COMPSCI 187
- three majors-level COMPSCI courses numbered 200 or above (except CICS 305), including at least two of the 200-level core courses (220, 230, 240, 250)
Courses taken on a Pass/Fail basis may not be used for the minor, and students must achieve at least a 2.00 grade point average on the courses used, with no more than one passing grade of C- or below. Interested students complete a CS Minor Intent form available on the website: https://www.cics.umass.edu/ugrad-education/cs-minor.
