Departmental Honors

Departmental Honors (DH) complements and extends the experience of an academic major. Departmental Honors is encouraged for students who intend to pursue graduate studies or careers related to their undergraduate majors.

Requirements for both admission to and completion of Departmental Honors vary by department and may exceed the minimum standards set by Commonwealth Honors College. On-campus Commonwealth Honors College applicants who are interested in pursuing Departmental Honors should apply for one of the following two options:

  1. Commonwealth Honors College full curriculum (Breadth of Study + Depth of Study) with Departmental Honors or
  2. Commonwealth Honors College Departmental Honors only.
