Education Abroad
Majors and minors in French and Francophone Studies are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to spend a year or a semester studying in France or another francophone country. UMass maintains a long-standing relationship with the University of Minnesota’s Study Abroad Program in Montpellier, which allows advanced students to enroll directly in courses at the Université Paul Valéry. UMass also sponsors an exchange with Université Paris Dauphine – PSL. French majors and other advanced students should choose between these two advanced programs.
For less advanced French language students, programs in French Language and Culture at the Institut Catholique de Paris are available, as well as programs at other sites. UMass also offers programs in France for students majoring in business and engineering fields. Consult the Education Abroad Office at IPO for further information.
