To ensure that equivalent courses taken outside UMass are recognized, they must be examined and approved for equivalency. If you are seeking certification and plan to take a course outside UMass, please consult with the Korean certificate advisor beforehand. You will need to provide the syllabus of the course for which you need equivalency approval, as credit hours and course content may vary by institution, even if the course name is similar. Please note that only language courses count toward the certificate, and at least two courses must be taken at UMass.
