Admission to the Major

Students may be admitted directly into the major as first-year or transfer students when they apply for admission to the university. Students already on campus must apply to enter the major. Journalism is an open major, and students from any major are welcome to apply at any time. There are no prerequisite courses. Applications are available from the Journalism office or online at www.umass.edu/journalism/application-journalism-major.
