The Field
Study in the social and behavioral sciences focuses on human behavior and organization from cultural, social, behavioral, and environmental perspectives. The social sciences try to explain how we are both social and individual beings. Undergraduates in the college are expected to achieve an understanding of culture, society, and individual and social interaction processes, and to learn methods by which knowledge is created in the social and behavioral sciences. As part of SBS Pathways, students anchor their knowledge in at least one academic discipline and have opportunities to expand this knowledge and their experiences through secondary majors, minors, and certificates; experiential learning inside and outside the classroom & co-curricular activities; and career and professional development.
