Academic Advising Services
To support their development, all students in the college are strongly encouraged to meet with an academic advisor at least once every semester. Academic advisors are available to assist students with questions or concerns they have as they progress through their academic careers. This includes advice on major exploration; course selection; departmental and university requirements; career and professional development; assistance with academic problems; and referral information about other services.
Each program in the college has a director of undergraduate advising who facilitates advising to students concerning the major (https://sbspathways.umass.edu/channels/majors/). SBS Exploratory Track students are advised in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences' SBS Pathways Center (https://sbspathways.umass.edu/channels/pathways-center/) in 128 Thompson Hall. For all SBS students, the SBS Pathways Center provides advising regarding career and professional development advising, major exploration, and academic dean petitions/appointments (e.g., repeat options, repeat course substitutions, late course adds, late course drops, academic discipline) and programs within the college.
For further information on advising in SBS see the college's website at https://sbspathways.umass.edu/channels/majors/.
